Terms and Conditions

Welcome to IT FIX Galway. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of our repair services, including laptop, mobile phone, tablet, and computer repairs. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services Provided
IT FIX Galway provides electronic device repair services including, but not limited to:
Hardware diagnostics and repairs
Software troubleshooting
Component replacements
System upgrades
Data-related services (where requested)
2. Estimates and Pricing
All quotations are based on an initial assessment and are estimates only.
If additional faults are discovered or extra work is required, customers will be notified before any further work is carried out.
A diagnostic fee may apply if the customer chooses not to proceed with the repair after diagnosis.
3. Repair Process and Timeframes
Repair times vary depending on fault complexity and parts availability.
IT FIX Galway is not responsible for delays caused by suppliers, couriers, or circumstances beyond our control.
Customers will be notified when their device is ready for collection.
4. Warranty
All repairs are covered by a 90-day warranty unless otherwise stated on the invoice or receipt.
Warranty covers only faults directly related to the repair carried out.
Warranty does not cover:
Physical or liquid damage after repair
Software issues unrelated to the repair
Tampering or third-party repair
Data loss
Consumable parts such as batteries (unless manufacturer defect applies)
Full warranty terms are available on our Warranty Policy page and apply to all repairs.
This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer protection law.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate information about device faults and history.
IT FIX Galway is not responsible for undisclosed pre-existing faults.
Customers are responsible for backing up their data before repair.
Customers must provide passwords, PINs, or recovery keys (where necessary) if they wish data to remain accessible.
6. BitLocker & Device Security
Some devices may have BitLocker or other security encryption enabled.
Certain repairs may trigger device security.
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide any required recovery keys or account access.
IT FIX Galway is not responsible for bypassing or recovering security credentials.
If access is unavailable, a device reset may be required, resulting in data loss.
7. Uncollected Devices
Devices must be collected within 30 days of the customer being notified that repair is complete.
Devices left uncollected for more than 60 days will be considered abandoned and may be recycled, sold, or used for parts to recover repair and storage costs.
IT FIX Galway accepts no responsibility for devices deemed abandoned.
8. Payment and Ownership
Full payment is required upon completion of repair and before the device is released.
Devices with unpaid balances may be retained until payment is received.
No refunds will be issued for completed repairs unless covered under warranty.
9. Data Protection and Privacy
IT FIX Galway complies with GDPR regulations.
Customer data is accessed only where necessary to perform repairs.
Customers concerned about privacy should remove sensitive data before repair.
10. Limitation of Liability
IT FIX Galway is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (including data loss).
Any issues must be reported within 7 days of collection of the repaired device.
We are not responsible for failures caused by pre-existing faults, liquid damage, corrosion, or prior repairs.
11. Third-Party Parts and Software
Where non-OEM or third-party parts are used, compatibility is guaranteed only within the scope of the repair.
Use of third-party parts may affect manufacturer warranties.
12. Amendments
IT FIX Galway reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be published on our website.
